Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is seeking a Contracts and Procurement Officer to execute acquisitions in compliance with state laws and department policies.   • Three years of technical clerical work and two years of technical experience in contracting and/or procurement (Level II).
  • Three years of technical clerical work, two years in contracting/procurement, and three years as a purchasing agent or buyer (Level III).
  • P-Card knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Execute acquisitions in compliance with state laws and ODMHSAS policies.
  • Review and process requisitions and prepare bid specifications and contracts.
  • Maintain files and ensure procurement of materials, furniture, equipment, supplies, and services.

Contracts and Procurement Officer

This incumbent is tasked with executing acquisitions in compliance with state laws and the policies of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services. Responsibilities may include reviewing and processing requisitions, making recommendations concerning purchases, preparing bid specifications and contracts, and maintaining files. This role involves the procurement of diverse materials, furniture, equipment, supplies, and services essential for the department's operations.

  • Annual Salary is LEVEL I $44,750,LEVEL II$51,250, LEVEL III$56,800
  • Primary Working Hours are M-F; 8-5
  • FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Level I:
  • Three years of technical clerical work
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level II:
  • Three years of technical clerical work and two years of technical experience in contracting and/or procurement
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 30 semester hours for each year of the technical clerical work only.
Level III:
  • Three years of technical clerical work and two years of technical experience in contracting and/or procurement and three years’ experience as a purchasing agent or buyer, one of which was in the employ of a government entity
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting 30 semester hours for each year of the technical clerical work only.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
  • Current CPO Certification or able to obtain CPO Certification within the first two weeks of employment.
  • P-Card knowledge.
