Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Construction Superintendent for community solar projects based in central/northwest Illinois, operating from project trailers on-site. This contract role oversees electrical and civil subcontractors, enforces safety, and drives schedule and quality across multiple solar sites.

The position requires a technical degree or substantial construction management experience, OSHA 10 (and OSHA 30 preferred), and strong on-site leadership with excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Experience managing commercial construction projects.
• Ability to coordinate multiple subcontractors on active sites.
• Strong reading of blueprints and specs.
• Technical degree or substantial construction management experience.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PDF documentation.
• OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 preferred or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site construction operations from project trailer.
• Coordinate electrical and civil subcontractors with forepersons.
• Handle site admin, reporting, and daily communications.
• Report progress and safety to senior management daily.
• Enforce safety policies and regulatory compliance.
• Set daily/weekly productivity for contractors.
• Maintain a three-week look-ahead schedule with PM.
• Coordinate material/equipment deliveries with logistics.
• Review blueprints, plans, and specs daily.
• Maintain documentation using MS Office and PDFs.
• Foster safety, quality, and accountability on site.
