Job summary

Community Options, Inc. in Dallas, TX seeks a Contract Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in community-based settings.

The RN will use the nursing process and collaborate with individuals, families, and an interdisciplinary team. Starting pay is $37.00 per hour; hours and scheduling depend on contract terms and program needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing experience.
• Minimum of one year of nursing care for individuals with disabilities.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
• Strong commitment to community‑based support for persons with disabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Contract engagement contingent upon background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and procedures ordered by a physician in line with standards.
• Coordinate with ISP/PCP and schedule medical appointments.
• Conduct assessments and follow‑up visits with individuals.
• Administer medications and manage medication protocols.
• Deliver health teaching and support self‑care and safety skills.
• Prepare and distribute medical health reports with the team.
• Complete care plans updates and documentation audits.
• Train staff on medical needs and competency validation.
• Comply with regulatory guidelines and complete daily to annual nursing docs.
