Job summary

Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
Understand physician orders and match requisition forms to tubes.
Package specimens for transport and store per protocol.
Comply with OSHA/DEP regulations and attend trainings.
Answer calls and read lab results to satisfy inquiries.
