Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking a Phlebotomist in the San Antonio, TX area for a contract role with a potential path to permanent placement. The position covers a 7am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday, with an 8-hour shift.

This float role serves locations within a 10-15 mile radius and requires at least 1 year of diagnostic phlebotomy experience. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and ensuring correct specimen transport and temperature control.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
