Job summary

KOB Solutions, Inc. invites a Phlebotomist to join a contract position in Columbia, MD. The role focuses on performing blood draws, specimen labeling, and maintaining specimen quality through proper handling and transport.

The candidate will have 2–4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience, with pediatric and geriatric patient exposure. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8a–5p, with potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection.
• Demonstrates technique with straight and butterfly needles.
• Ensures all test requisitions match script and labels; prepares specimens for transport.
