Job summary

CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for Columbia, MD. The contract role requires blood draws, specimen labeling, and proper handling in a fast-paced medical setting. Pediatric and geriatric experience preferred, with 2+ years of phlebotomy work and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the venipuncture process and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and complete annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
