Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience required as stated in job posting.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws and collect specimens with proper labeling.
• Centrifuge and store specimens per SOPs; update patient information.
• Explain venipuncture procedure clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure accurate labeling.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain proper storage temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer phones and communicate test results to inquiries.
