Job summary

Talent With Heart in Columbia, MD is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with possible permanent conversion. The role requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience, pediatric & geriatric exposure, and certification.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8a–5p, with benefits available. Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifugation, and maintaining accurate records while complying with OSHA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures and explains venipuncture to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles and ensure correct test requisitions.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures and protocols.
• Comply with OSHA/DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
