Management Performance Associates in Owasso, OK is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role involves performing blood draws, labeling specimens, and ensuring compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations.

Schedule is Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. A valid phlebotomy certification, at least 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital, and proficiency with Microsoft Office are required.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state of employment.
• Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process in a clear but courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions against script for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Store specimen samples according to required temperature and protocol to maintain integrity.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
