Aufgaben

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, record maintenance data and decontamination.
• Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles.
• Understand physicians' orders and match requisitions to specimens.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Check test requisitions against scripts for accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
• Answer phone inquiries and report laboratory results when needed.
