Management Performance Associates in Greer, SC is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Schedule: M-F 8a-5p; projected duration: 3 months with potential for extension. Role involves blood draws, labeling, centrifugation, and maintaining specimen integrity.

Ideal candidates hold phlebotomy certification and have at least 6 months of fast-paced lab experience, plus proficiency with MS Office and good patient communication.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.
• Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and relay lab results as needed.
