Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is seeking a contract Phlebotomist to perform blood draws and specimen processing in Vancouver, WA. The role involves float duties across Portland, Beaverton and Gresham, with hours typically between 6am and 6pm, Monday to Friday.

Requires a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and pediatric/geriatric specimen experience. Mileage reimbursement is provided, and the position lasts approximately three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience required.
• Phlebotomy experience required.
• Clean driving record and reliable transportation.
• Pediatric and geriatric experience preferred.
• Specimen processing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and/or other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer label against script to ensure 100% correct. Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimen sample according to required temperature, places samples
