Joseph Michaels International is seeking a Phlebotomist in Columbia, MD for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. You will perform blood draws, label specimens, and ensure proper handling and transport according to protocols. Pediatric and geriatric experience is required.

Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Candidates should have 2–4 years diagnostic phlebotomy experience and a valid phlebotomy certification; MS Office skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience

Responsabilités

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly to patients and other specimen collection tasks as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Ensure test requisitions and labels match to maintain accuracy and transport specimens correctly.
