Ashton North LLC in Castleton-on-Hudson, NY, is seeking a phlebotomist for a contract role with potential for permanent hire. The position covers M-F at Castleton, NY and alternating Saturdays at Latham, NY, with a Monday through Friday 7:30am–4:00pm schedule and Saturday shifts 7:00am–1:00pm.

The role requires 2 years of phlebotomy experience and offers benefits. Training and compliance with OSHA/DEP regulations are expected, with annual department trainings.

Competenze

• Must have phlebotomy experience in a lab or hospital setting.
• Certification as a phlebotomist (state-required) is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite for data entry and record-keeping.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.

Mansioni

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Clearly explains the venipuncture process to patients in a courteous manner.
• Demonstrate technique with straight needles and/or butterfly needles; match requisition forms to tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure proper storage and transport conditions.
