Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Port Charlotte, FL. Schedule is Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm with a 3-month duration and potential for permanent placement.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations. Minimum 6 months venipuncture experience and a phlebotomy certification are required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously
• Perform blood draws, labeling, centrifuging, and specimen handling
• Record maintenance data and decontamination
• Collect and store specimens according to procedures
• Ensure test requisitions match labels and scripts for accuracy
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations
• Attend annual department trainings
• Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results as needed
