Job summary

Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is actively seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract role in Port Charlotte, FL. You will perform blood draws, label and process specimens, maintain accurate data, and comply with safety guidelines to support laboratory operations.

The position runs Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with an initial duration of 3 months and potential for permanent placement.

Qualifications

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously to patients.
Demonstrate technique using straight or butterfly needles as required.
Ensure documentation matches physician orders and requisitions.
Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures and protocols.
Follow OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department trainings.
