Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking a contract Phlebotomist in Fairbanks, AK for an initial 3-month assignment with potential for permanent hire. The role runs 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with a projected duration of about three months and the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities include blood draws, specimen labeling, centrifuging, data recording, and ensuring proper transport and storage of specimens per protocol. OSHA/DEP compliance training is required.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed.
• Minimum 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and other specimen collection as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and labels accurately.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperatures.

Education

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed
