Job summary

KLA Industries in Fairbanks, AK is seeking a Phlebotomist for a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. The role includes blood draws, specimen labeling, and maintaining accurate records, with a schedule from 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include handling venipunctures, documenting maintenance data, and ensuring proper specimen transport and storage in compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED
• minimum 1 year of experience

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and label accordingly.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples per required temperatures.
