Job summary

Ron Sunshine Associates LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist to support blood collection duties in Washington DC. The role involves hard draws, handling specimens, and interacting with geriatric patients in a fast-paced setting.

The position is a contract opportunity with potential for permanent placement after 3 months, working weekdays 7am-4pm and Saturday mornings, with benefits available.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy certification valid in the state of employment.
• Minimum 5 years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate technique with straight or butterfly needles.
• Ensure all test requisitions and labels match accurately.
• Package specimens for transport and maintain specimen integrity per protocol.
• Attend department trainings and comply with OSHA/DEP regulations.
