Job summary

Tom Trese Networking LLC in Ashland, OR seeks a Phlebotomist for a contract position with potential for permanent employment. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm, with every other Friday off. The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, and adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations.

Requirements include a state phlebotomy certification, 6 months of venipuncture experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Training and benefits are available.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED
• 2 years of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture and specimen collection.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all physician orders and match laboratory requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature.
• Understand and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations.
• Attend annual department trainings.
• Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to satisfy inquiries.
