Job summary

Aspire Talent Solutions seeks a Phlebotomist in Silver Spring, MD, to support a contract role of approximately 3 months with potential extensions. The position runs Mon–Fri with every other Saturday, 10:30am–6:30pm, requiring venipuncture skills and reliable specimen handling.

The role involves blood draws, specimen labeling, transport, and adherence to OSHA/DEP regulations, with benefits available and a commitment to accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

• Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required.
• Minimum of 5 work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
• Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
• Explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Understand all physician orders and match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store samples at required temperatures.
