Job Juncture is seeking a phlebotomist in Silver Spring, MD for a contract role with potential for permanent placement. Expect duties including blood draws, specimen labeling, data entry, and specimen transport. The position requires precise technique and strong patient communication.

Minimum certification and at least five years of venipuncture experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting are expected. Benefits are available and the assignment is 3 months plus potential for perm.

Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by state.
• Minimum 5 years venipuncture experience in fast-paced lab or hospital.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, labeling and centrifuging specimens with accuracy.
• Record maintenance data and decontamination per protocol.
• Explain venipuncture processes clearly to patients and families.
• Ensure specimens are correctly labeled and matched to test orders.
• Package specimens for transport and store per required temperatures.
