Description

Contract Management Specialist (Renewable Energy)

Location: New York, NY

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Contract Management Specialist to join our team. This role is critical in bridging the gap between the execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and the Commercial Operation Date (COD) of our renewable energy assets. You will be the primary point of contact for large energy users, ensuring all contractual milestones are met, while also supporting our growth through RFP responses and the integration of complex energy transactions.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who balances technical proficiency in finance and contracts with the \"EQ\" necessary to manage high-stakes relationships with sophisticated off-takers.

Key Responsibilities

  • PPA Lifecycle & Development Management

  • Execution to COD: Manage the critical path of obligations for PPAs.

  • Milestone Tracking: Monitor and document progress against contractual milestones and provide formal notices to counter-parties as required.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Oversee ongoing reporting obligations to ensure full compliance with all contractual terms, including environmental attribute tracking and financial reporting.

  • Transaction Integration & Special Projects

  • Complex Transactions: Facilitate the integration of new, complex energy transactions into the existing portfolio management framework.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies in how contracts are tracked and managed.

  • Cross-Functional Liaison: Serve as a central node between the commercial, legal, and operational teams.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2-5 years of professional experience, ideally within the renewable energy sector, utilities, or a large-scale infrastructure environment.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

  • Contractual Literacy: Ability to read and interpret complex legal and financial documents (specifically PPAs or other energy contracts).

  • High EQ & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage external client relationships and internal stakeholders with diplomacy and clarity.

  • Attention to Detail: A \"zero-error\" mindset regarding deadlines, and compliance filings.

  • Self-Starter Mentality: own projects from inception to completion.
