Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in a related field.
• Strong contracts management experience within large-scale construction, energy, infrastructure, or EPC environments.
• Experience supporting large-value construction, EPC, procurement, and/or equipment supply agreements.
• Demonstrated experience with contract formation, including RFPs, bid evaluation, contractor selection, negotiations, and execution.

Contract Manager – Renewable Energy Projects

Brunel is currently seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to support a leading renewable energy organization with a growing portfolio of large-scale solar and wind projects across the United States.

This position will initially focus on contract formation activities for multiple utility-scale renewable energy projects currently progressing through the RFP stage, with individual projects ranging from approximately 300 MW to 500 MW.

As projects progress, the role is expected to transition into post-award contract management and construction-phase commercial support.

Position Overview

The Contracts Manager will play a key role in supporting the commercial and contractual development of major renewable energy projects.

The initial focus will be on pre-award contract formation, supporting projects through RFP preparation, commercial bid evaluation, contractor selection, recommendation for award, negotiation, and contract execution.

As projects advance into construction, the position may transition into post-award contract management, including contract compliance, change management, claims, notices, and commercial risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development, negotiation, and execution of EPC, construction, and major equipment supply agreements.
• Support RFP preparation, commercial bid evaluations, contractor selection, and recommendations for award.
• Review contractor proposals, commercial terms, exhibits, appendices, and other contractual documentation.
• Participate in commercial negotiations with EPC contractors, suppliers, and other project counterparties.
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and support the development of appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Partner with Legal, Engineering, Procurement, Preconstruction, Project Management, Project Controls, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.
• Support contracting strategies and contracting plans for large-scale renewable energy projects.
• Ensure appropriate internal reviews, approvals, and governance requirements are completed prior to contract execution.
• Support contract administration and compliance as projects transition into construction.
• Manage or support change orders, contractual notices, claims, and formal contractor correspondence.
• Provide contractual and commercial guidance regarding obligations, risk, and claims avoidance.
• Support continuous improvement of contract management processes, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Law, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
• Strong contracts management experience within large-scale construction, energy, infrastructure, or EPC environments.
• Experience supporting large-value construction, EPC, procurement, and/or equipment supply agreements.
• Demonstrated experience with contract formation, including RFPs, commercial bid evaluation, contractor selection, negotiations, and contract execution.
• Strong ability to read, interpret, and evaluate complex contractual and commercial terms.
• Knowledge of contract compliance, commercial risk, change management, and claims.
• Renewable energy experience, particularly within utility-scale solar and/or wind projects, is highly preferred.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with contract lifecycle or construction management systems such as InEight or Procore is a plus.
