1872 Consulting is seeking a Technical Recruiter for a contract-to-hire engagement. This fully remote role targets IT, Data, Innovation, and AI talent, with a 3-month path to full-time conversion. You will recruit across multiple functions, directly impacting our technology initiatives.

You will lead full lifecycle recruitment, partner with hiring leaders, source proactively, and build strong pipelines while delivering a best-in-class candidate experience and actionable market insights.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience for IT/Data/Tech roles.
• Experience sourcing for software engineering, data analytics, AI, DevOps, and related domains.
• Experience recruiting in corporate and technical environments; agency experience preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple roles across functions with data-driven insights.

Technical Recruiter (Contract to Hire; 1099 Independent Contractor)

The Role

This contract to hire role will focus on recruiting exceptional professionals across Information Technology, Data, Innovation, and Artificial Intelligence, supporting our rapidly expanding digital and technology initiatives.

You will play a key role in delivering a best-in-class candidate experience, developing strong partnerships with hiring leaders, and leveraging creative sourcing strategies to identify, attract, and hire top technical talent. This role offers the opportunity to directly impact our company’s future in technology and innovation within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle recruitment process from intake and sourcing through offer acceptance for IT, Data, Innovation, and AI positions across multiple functions and levels
• Partner with hiring managers and business leaders to understand role requirements, develop position profiles, and align on sourcing strategies, timelines, and expectations
• Identify, attract, and engage top technology talent through proactive sourcing, networking, and research-driven outreach
• Build and maintain pipelines of qualified candidates for both current and anticipated hiring needs
• Provide data-driven insights and market intelligence to hiring teams to inform talent decisions
• Ensure a best-in-class candidate experience aligned with our culture and values
• Maintain accurate and compliant candidate data within the Applicant Tracking System
• Summarize weekly recruiting progress and share updates on open searches, pipeline activity, and candidate flow
• Partner with external agencies when appropriate to support strategic and niche hiring needs

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on IT, Data, and Technology roles
• Proven success sourcing and hiring for technical skill sets such as software engineering, data analytics, product management, AI engineering, DevOps, and related domains
• Experience recruiting for both corporate and technical environments, ideally within the construction, engineering, or technology industries
• Must have at least some Agency or External recruiting experience

• Strong consultative and relationship-building skills with technical hiring managers and candidates
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail and organization
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment

• Flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working with evolving priorities
• Open to candidates with either in-house or agency recruiting experience, ideally with exposure to both
