Job summary

The University of Georgia is seeking a Temporary Accountant to support the Post Award Accounting team in Athens. The role involves handling awards setup, invoicing, and financial reporting for sponsored projects under various contracts and agreements.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting and/or external sponsored funding.
• Knowledge of UGA Accounting systems

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret and check for completeness of award documents and note special requirements.
• Identify invoicing and financial reporting requirements and notate in the Grants Portal.
• Review and approve fiscal compliance items, including UGAMart Requisitions, Expense Reports, Payment Requests, Combo Code Requests and Journals for charges on sponsored projects.
• Respond to external agency and UGA departmental questions, inactivate closed projects, assist and preparing information for audits, as well as other duties as assigned.
• Serve as a liaison with departmental contacts based on agency assignments and help resolve budget issues as necessary.
