Job summary

University of Georgia is seeking a Business Manager I for the FACS-Human Development & Family Science department in Athens. The role focuses on post‑award financial accounting, travel, reimbursements, journal entries, and general ledger activities to support faculty and staff across Georgia.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and multiple years of related financial experience. The position requires strong attention to detail, data entry accuracy, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

  • Three or more years' experience in a professional financial field.
  • Knowledge of USG/UGA financial and budget policies and procedures preferred.
  • Knowledge of USG/UGA Financial Management and system processes/transactions preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate departmental payment and reimbursement requests via UGA's Financial Management System.
  • Process all Foundation payment and reimbursement requests via UGAF@Work.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions ensuring adequate funding.
  • Prepare general ledger entries for all department accounts.
  • Examine payment and reimbursement documentation for accuracy and compliance with UGA policies and procedures.
  • Provide monthly reporting to departmental faculty using reports, queries, etc.
  • Provide daily assistance to the Business Manager II for financial duties and back-up support.
