Job summary

Toyota of El Cajon is seeking an experienced Contract Clerk to join our team. This role processes car deals and handles legal documents while maintaining accurate contract records and liaising with customers and managers.

Responsibilities include entering new/used retail deals, ensuring DMV compliance, issuing refund checks, and performing month-end tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years related experience.
• Knowledge of California DMV regulations for deal documentation.
• Automotive accounting experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills; data entry and word processing.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter all New and/or used retail deals with accuracy (300+ per store volume).
• Screen deal files for missing documents per CA DMV regulations.
• Issue refund checks and track/deposit customer checks as needed.
• Payoff trade-ins and set up equity checks.
• Maintain contracts in transit and vehicle receivables; keep inventory current.
• Perform month-end tasks and respond to inquiries professionally.
• Communicate needed documents and follow up with managers as required.
• Handle general office duties: data entry, filing, word processing.
