Description

The Continuous Improvement Manager, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, will be responsible for identifying, leading, and executing the Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy for manufacturing, operations, and back office functions. The position involves facilitation of Kaizen events and implementation of lean practices, including tools such as 5S, value stream mapping, work cell layout, KATA coaching, and others. This role is hands-on and requires working with cross-functional teams across multiple sites, as well as educating peers through facilitation of lean activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recommend Continuous Improvement initiatives based on operational and financial data analysis, supported by budget and cost/benefit forecasts.
2. Introduce CI benchmarks and measurement tools to enable leaders to evaluate areas for improvement and determine their operational and financial impact.
3. Lead approved CI programs by coordinating necessary resources.
4. Guide site lean implementers on lean projects.
5. Develop lean training materials, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
6. Coach, counsel, and train staff to develop and sustain a proactive CI culture.
7. Visit facilities to provide support, evaluate operations, and assist as needed.
8. Monitor costs, schedules, and performance of CI initiatives.

Position Requirements

1. High School Diploma with over 6 years of experience in a CI role.
2. Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or Master’s in Business, Manufacturing/Logistics, or Engineering preferred.
3. At least 5 years of experience in operations, process improvement, or related fields, including LEAN Manufacturing concepts (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma). Black Belt certification and Lean certifications are required.
4. Ability to work independently and in teams.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Strong leadership and facilitation skills.
7. Effective interaction with various organizational levels.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
9. Ability to stand or remain stationary for extended periods.
10. Ability to work in refrigerated environments.
