Cagayan State University is seeking an enthusiastic undergraduate intern to lead efficiency improvement projects in packaging and processing areas of a beverage facility. You will facilitate process development initiatives to boost operational performance and learn problem-solving tools used in manufacturing.

Qualification includes being a four-year undergraduate student entering senior year, GPA 3.0+, and strong English communication skills.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

• Lead efficiency improvement projects in packaging and processing areas of the beverage facility.
• Facilitate process development initiatives to enhance operational performance.

About You

The company is looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program, entering senior year in the fall after the internship.
• Preferred majors: Industrial Engineering, Applied Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
• Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base pay of $28 per hour.
• Eligibility for a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits depending on the position.

Training & Development

• Learn problem-solving tools and techniques used in manufacturing.
• Understand contributing factors to inefficiencies in production.
• Gain fundamentals of project management.
• Learn aseptic packaging and processing principles.
• Develop understanding of facility departments and their functions.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Work involves 8 hours of sitting, standing, and walking.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Exposure to machinery hazards, forklifts/PITs, and sanitation chemicals.

Internship Details

• Location: Coopersville, MI.
• Schedule: On-site, Monday through Friday.
• Duration: May 24 through August 10, 2027.
• Reports to: Continuous Improvement Manager.
