Job summary

Aptar is offering a Co-Op focused on continuous improvement within its Mukwonago, WI facility. This role supports Manufacturing and CI teams, applying structured problem-solving and data analysis to drive plant-wide improvements.

Ideal candidates are juniors or seniors in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, with quick learning ability, teamwork, and familiarity with AutoCAD and MS Office. The internship runs 2027 and requires commuting to the site.

Qualifications

  • Student pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and task ownership.
  • Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software is preferred.
  • Strong organization and time-management skills, handling multiple streams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to the Continuous Improvement and Manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in Aptar’s CI process using structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis to solve manufacturing process issues.
  • Lead small projects and improvement activities across the plant.
  • Assist implementing machine and process changes to support CI.
  • Contribute to cross-functional cost-saving and operational improvements.
  • Assist with statistical analysis, verification, and validation of improvements.
  • Participate in 5S audits and support ongoing 5S improvements across the plant.

Co-Op Term duration: January 2027 - August 2027, or May 2027 - December 2027

JOB ELEMENTS & POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide hands‑on support to the Continuous Improvement & Manufacturing teams.
  • Participate in Aptar’s continuous improvement process by using structured problem‑solving techniques.
  • Perform root cause analysis to help solve problems in the manufacturing process.
  • Lead small projects & improvement activities to enhance processes throughout the plant.
  • Assist in implementing machine & process changes that support continuous improvement.
  • Contribute to cross‑functional teams focused on cost‑saving initiatives & operational improvements.
  • Assist with statistical analysis, solution verification, & validation of improvement countermeasures.
  • Participate in 5S audits & support ongoing 5S improvements across the plant.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Quick learner who can adapt & perform well in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self‑motivated & confident, with the ability to take initiative & drive tasks forward.
  • Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work effectively both independently & in cross‑functional groups.
  • Experience with—and willingness to learn—AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Excellent organizational & time‑management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with computers & Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, & PowerPoint.
  • All other duties as assigned.
LOCATION:

The student must be able to commute to our site in Mukwonago, WI.

HOURS:

This is a Monday - Friday schedule, working approximately 40 hours per week.
