What You’ll Get to Do

The Continuous Improvement Engineer 1 is focused on business processes, new product development projects, supplier improvement efforts, and/or customer/product issues. This role reports to the Group Quality Manager.

This position is ideal for someone looking to develop professional expertise by applying company policies and procedures to resolve various issues. As a vital member of the Quality Department, this is an excellent opportunity to build a career with an industry leader.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Value Stream Mapping processes, conducting time studies, participating in Kaizen events, establishing Standard Work, performing audits/Gemba Walks, developing PFD, FMEA, Control Plans, Job Element Sheets, conducting root cause analysis using 5-Why, Cause & Effect diagrams, A3 tools, validating New Product Introductions (NPI), creating test validation plans, Gauge Studies, and performing statistical analysis.
  • Utilizing voice of the customer information and problem-solving tools (5-Why, Logic Tree, Cause & Effect diagram, A3, etc.) to identify root causes and develop countermeasures.
  • Supporting the implementation of lean manufacturing principles to continually improve processes.
What We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, mechanical, manufacturing, industrial engineering) or equivalent experience.
  • 0 - 3 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Knowledge of Toyota Production Systems, mechanical or manufacturing processes, understanding of drawings, specifications, and standards, and familiarity with machined parts and their manufacturing processes.
  • A background in continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ISO-9000 and/or TS-16949 Quality Systems.
