Job summary

The Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) seeks a Content Manager to work with the Marketing and Communications team to plan and develop content for the MFA’s website, emails, social channels, print materials, advertising, signage, and multimedia tours.

You will manage pages on MFA.org, collaborate with stakeholders, ensure editorial standards, and produce platform-specific copy, video content, and assets, while coordinating with IP, design, and digital teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, PR, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of communications experience with strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent command of style, spelling, grammar, and punctuation, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and with multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep familiarity with Instagram and TikTok and ability to create engaging platform-specific content.
  • Experience with HTML, UX and SEO best practices, and content management systems (e.g., Drupal); willingness to work in multiple CMSs.
  • Familiarity with Basecamp and Jira for project management.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit, and fact-check copy for external communications across channels while adhering to editorial standards.
  • Manage exhibition, gallery, collection, tickets, visit, and event pages on MFA.org with production schedules and assets.
  • Create engaging content for MFA’s social channels; write copy and film/edit video on iPhone using CapCut.
  • Respond to requests for editing, copywriting, and project management as needed.
  • Work with IP department to generate art credits for all communications.
