Content Claims Specialists Job Description
Content Claims Specialists manage the physical inventory and valuation of contents damaged in residential and commercial property claims. They prepare report packages outlining the replacement cost and actual cash value of non-restorable items. They determine whether contents are restorable or non-restorable and prepare estimates for both categories. This may include managing restoration contractors on complex claims.
New York State Salary Details:
$30,354.10 - $55,506.70
Minimum Requirements:
- Secondary (High School) Diploma; college degree preferred.
- Adjuster License and valid driver's license.
- Minimum 6 months (preferably 2-3 years) relevant work experience or completion of Crawford and Company basic property class and/or continuing education.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including handling challenging situations.
- Must meet licensing and continuing education requirements.
Work Environment and Equipment:
- This is a remote/work-from-home position.
- Employee must provide an adequate, noise-free workspace, high-speed internet, and a reliable personal vehicle.
- Company equipment, including a laptop, will be provided and must be maintained responsibly.
- Overnight travel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned claims from initial contact to completion, acting as the single point of contact.
- Communicate with adjusters, policyholders, and vendors about their roles and contributions.
- Schedule and conduct physical inventories of impacted contents, identifying claim type and applying appropriate methodologies.
- Decide on restoration, repair, cleaning, or replacement of content items.
- Ensure quality and timely processing of claims according to company standards and SLAs.
- Coordinate resources for data entry and assessments.
- Manage claim workload to promote timely closures.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with all parties.
- Complete detailed work and time logs daily.
- Update claim notes accurately in the company's system.
- Ensure timely and accurate pricing of all items, following LKQ standards.
- Maintain professional knowledge through continuing education.
- Promote the company's brand and uphold its standards and conduct.
- Participate in special projects, CAT responses, or other duties as assigned.
