Content Claims Specialists manage the physical inventory and valuation of contents damaged in residential and commercial property claims. They prepare report packages outlining the replacement cost and actual cash value of non-restorable items. Responsibilities also include determining whether contents are restorable or non-restorable and preparing estimates for both types of items. This may involve managing restoration contractors on complex claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned claims from initial contact until completion, acting as the single point of contact for all stakeholders.
- Communicate with adjusters, policyholders, and industry vendors to explain the role of Content Claims Specialists and their contributions to the claims process.
- Schedule and complete physical inventories of contents impacted by covered losses, identifying claim types, and applying appropriate methodologies based on circumstances.
- Determine whether contents should be restored, repaired, cleaned, or replaced.
- Ensure quality and timely processing of all claims according to company standards and client SLA requirements.
- Coordinate resources with the Field Support Department for data entry and LKQ assessment of damaged contents.
- Manage claim load independently to promote timely closures.
- Maintain detailed claim notes and logs in the company's claims system, adhering to productivity standards.
- Complete and price all outstanding items following LKQ standards.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
- Promote the company's brand and uphold the Code of Business Conduct.
- Participate in special projects, CAT responses, or other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Secondary (High School) Diploma; college degree preferred.
- Adjuster License and valid driver's license, with ongoing continuing education.
- Minimum 6 months of relevant experience; 2-3 years preferred.
- Strong communication, attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Excel, and other computer skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle challenging situations effectively.
- This is a remote position requiring a noise-free workspace, high-speed internet, and a reliable vehicle.
- Company equipment will be provided; employee responsible for maintenance.
- Overnight travel may be required.
