Job summary

Garmin Ltd. seeks a full-time Author at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. You will plan, develop, and deliver moderately complex customer instructional deliverables within a collaborative TechComm team.

Responsibilities include authoring new content in the CMS, leading projects based on existing documentation, and collaborating with designers to produce graphics-based content. A Bachelor's in technical writing or related field with at least 1 year of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 1+ year relevant experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook; strong communication skills.
• Experience with content planning, standards, and CMS participation.

Responsibilities

• Author new content in CMS following guidelines and versioning.
• Lead projects based on existing documentation; mentor other authors.
• Collaborate with Information Architects to plan CMS publication architecture.
• Review and provide feedback on content for style, voice, audience, and consistency.
• Identify process improvements and assist in training teammates.
