Job summary

Republic Services Processing Technician role focuses on safe treatment and handling of containerized wastes, including receipt, screening, unloading, and tracking of incoming streams and residuals. Handheld scanners and forklift operations ensure precise inventory control and compliant procedures.

Key tasks include manifest processing, off-loading coordination, sample collection, and label generation, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, multitasking, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Ability to use light equipment such as forklift and pallet-jack.
• Basic knowledge of computer operations needed to operate handheld scanners.
• Skilled with hand and shop tools.
• Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail.
• Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, signs, and processes incoming manifests, noting discrepancies.
• Directs off-loading operations for receipt of primarily non bulk containers into the facility’s storage systems for process and handling.
• Uses handheld bar code scanner as the primary internal recordkeeping system to ensure safe handling and inventory of containerized wastes.
• Forklift operations to facilitate the handling of all non-bulk containerized wastes.
• Collects and analyzes waste samples.
• Consolidates like-wastes wherever possible to improve economic outcomes.
• Store waste containers properly in all designated plant storage areas.
• Assists in generating internal bar code labels and places them on containers as received.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
