Job summary

Republic Services in Chicago is seeking a Container Welder/Fabricator to repair, weld, paint, and maintain containers and roll-off boxes. The role requires certification and working knowledge of MIG/ARC welding, plasma cutting, and fabrication.

You will perform repairs on various container types, install lids and wheels, follow safety rules, and complete required paperwork while contributing to a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• Certified welder with MIG/ARC and plasma cutter experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on front, rear and roll-off containers.
• Weld steel and aluminum components using MIG and ARC welding equipment.
• Fabricate steel components using a brake and shear.
• Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
• Fabricate steel components for hoppers, containers and compactors.
• Install lids and wheels on containers.
• Paint repaired containers.
• Follow safety policies and procedures.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Install company and safety decals in accordance with company diagram on containers and roll-off boxes.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Refer more complex repairs to the Supervisor.
