Alaska Marine Lines is looking for a motivated individual to repair, maintain and perform preventative maintenance on Containers, Platforms, and Tanks. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Inspect and analyze containers, platforms, and tanks for proper repair.
  2. Perform structural repair on containers, platforms, and tanks.
  3. Evaluate project, determine safety precautions, and follow precautions needed for the task.
  4. Set up, cut, and fit material for welding.
  5. Metal weld, tack weld, by flame torch, arc stick rod, arc wire feed for proper repair on metal ranging from gauge material to 2” fillet welds and pipe welding.
  6. Prepare items for welding by disassembling parts and acquiring needed parts.
  7. Work with sheet metal fabrication.
  8. Install and remove plywood flooring.
  9. Record daily repairs in M&R maintenance software.
  10. Comply with all company safety policies, including use of protective equipment and Fit for Work.
  11. Other duties may be assigned.
