Job summary

Jackson Hewitt Tax Service Inc. seeks a customer-focused representative to handle inbound and outbound calls, resolve client issues, and provide tax knowledge with a professional demeanor. You will document cases, respond to inquiries via phone, email, or chat, and guide clients toward the best next steps.

You will work in a fast-paced environment, leveraging training and tools to support clients and promote appropriate products or services, with emphasis on accuracy and empathy.

Qualifications

• 1 - 3 years previous call center experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Great active listening skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and rapport building skills.
• Patient and empathetic attitude.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Computer literacy, ability to learn new technologies.
• Phone skills, including familiarity with complex or multi-line phone systems.
• Ability to learn in-depth knowledge of JH’s products and/or services.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound/outbound calls to learn about and address client needs, complaints, or issues with products or services.
• Respond accurately to client inquiries, explain solutions, and ensure clients feel supported and valued.
• Present a professional, courteous demeanor via verbal and/or written communications.
• Take ownership in assisting, researching, resolving, or escalating customer issues.
• Respond to customer queries via phone, email, or chat and document records accurately.
• Engage in active listening, confirm information, and diffuse upset clients when needed.
• Make sales or recommendations for products or services that may suit client needs.
• Utilize software, databases, scripts, and tools appropriately.
• Research and provide accurate information to guide the customer’s next best action.
