Prospect Rock Partners in New York seeks an experienced Investment Banking Associate to join its Consumer & Retail M&A team. The role covers mergers and acquisitions across consumer-facing industries, with exposure to founder-owned businesses, private equity-backed companies, and established corporate clients.

The ideal candidate brings strong M&A execution, technical expertise, and the ability to manage transaction processes in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years of investment banking experience with emphasis on M&A execution.
• Experience in Consumer & Retail IB or related transaction experience preferred.
• Ability to manage complex transaction processes and coordinate multiple workstreams.
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with clients and counterparties.
• Experience mentoring junior team members and maintaining high execution standards.
• Strong work ethic and ability to prioritize in a demanding environment.
• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting/economics; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead day-to-day execution of M&A transactions, from initial preparation through closing.
• Develop and review financial models, valuation analyses (DCF, comps, precedent, mergers).
• Prepare pitch books, CIMs, management and buyer presentations, and client materials.
• Manage analysts and junior team members, guiding modeling and research.
• Coordinate due diligence, data rooms, and communications among clients and parties.
• Conduct industry and market research across Consumer & Retail subsectors.
• Support senior bankers in business development and new pitches.
• Build and maintain client relationships while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
