Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. is seeking a Consumer Loan Closer to own loan closing processes for a variety of loan types, ensuring timely and accurate documentation in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.

This role collaborates with Lending staff, Closing Agents, Dealers and Lenders. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of consumer loan documentation experience, proficiency with LaserPro and Microsoft Office, and strong time management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• It is required to have 1–3 years of consumer loan documentation experience; real estate closing transactions are preferred.
• Proficiency with LaserPro and general document preparation is needed; knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
• Must follow Loan Policy, internal procedures and comply with federal/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process consumer loan closing requests across multiple loan types (HELOC, TRID, manufactured homes, dealer loans).
• Review documentation and determine due diligence, HMDA eligibility, flood determinations, title work, and disclosures.
• Prepare closing documents in LaserPro and deliver them to Closing Agents, Dealers, or Lenders.
• Ensure SLAs are met and escalate issues to Loan Closing Management when needed.
• Initiate wires/ACHs and manage funding after rescission period, as applicable.
• Monitor workload and track progress in the Loan Closing workflow.
