Job summary

Turo is seeking a Litigation Counsel to manage a high-volume consumer disputes portfolio arising from its peer-to-peer car-sharing marketplace. This role involves arbitration, pre-arbitration handling, and collaboration with outside counsel to compel arbitration.

You will guide internal teams on dispute resolution, regulatory responses, and risk mitigation in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant litigation experience, a J.D.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active state bar membership (or ability to obtain Arizona licensure within 90 days).
• 3+ years of relevant litigation experience in law firm or in-house setting.
• Proven proficiency in case assessment, discovery, negotiation, and trial preparation.
• Strong writing and communication skills; ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and external counsel.

Responsibilities

• Arbitrate cases, prepare evidence, attend hearings in remote, online forums.
• Evaluate pre-arbitration disputes and advise internal teams on resolutions.
• Support outside counsel with briefing, discovery, and motions to compel arbitration.
• Draft regulatory responses to inquiries related to user disputes.
• Prepare responses to discovery and defend depositions.
• Advise business units on dispute escalations and litigation risk.
• Analyze risk and identify emerging dispute patterns for leadership.
• Balance thorough legal representation with cost-effective case management.
