Job summary

Roth Capital Partners, LLC in Newport Beach, CA is seeking an Investment Banking Associate for the Consumer Team. The role involves ownership of financial analysis, deal materials, and process management with increasing client exposure, reporting to senior bankers in person at the Newport Beach office.

Candidates should have MBA or advanced IB experience or 3+ years as an Analyst, strong modeling and presentation skills, and familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ or FactSet.

Qualifications

• MBA or advanced degree with prior investment banking experience or 3+ years as an investment banking Analyst.
• SIE, Series 79, and 63 licenses are required.
• Experience with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or FactSet is preferred.
• Prior experience in consumer investment banking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and quality control of complex financial models (DCF, LBO, merger consequences, accretion/dilution) and valuation analyses.
• Oversee preparation of pitch books, management presentations, offering memoranda, and other transaction materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
• Manage day-to-day workstreams on live transactions, coordinating across internal teams and external advisors (legal, accounting, tax).
• Participate in client meetings and calls, contributing to strategic discussions and deal positioning.
• Support due diligence processes, including managing data rooms and identifying key risks or issues for senior banker review.
• Review and guide the work of Analysts, providing feedback on modeling, formatting, and analytical rigor.
• Assist in deal structuring, negotiation support, and drafting of transaction documentation.
• Conduct industry and company research to support origination efforts and new business development.
