Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction VDC Lead to drive digital model coordination and field integration on major projects in the Building Engineering sector. You will act as the primary liaison between design teams, construction teams, subcontractors, and field leadership, ensuring BIM models support construction execution and installation requirements.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years related industry experience.
• Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool.
• Competency of Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
• Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits are essential.

Responsibilities

• Serve as onsite liaison among design teams, construction teams, subcontractors, delegated design partners, and field leadership.
• Ensure digital models support construction execution, constructability, field coordination, and installation requirements.
• Provide onsite construction support, including regular onsite presence, participating in coordination meetings and field planning sessions, and observing site progress.
• Provide design and construction integration services, coordinating design changes, RFIs, bulletins, and construction updates, and reflecting changes in project models.
• Model management and quality control, maintaining project model continuity and performing BIM quality reviews.
• Facilitate multi-discipline coordination by coordinating across all design disciplines and resolving conflicts.
• Coordinate delegated design scopes with specialty contractors and ensure communication between designers, subcontractors, and design teams.
• Provide constructability and installation support by reviewing concerns, verifying access, and identifying field conflicts.
