Job summary

CEI in Providence, RI is seeking an Operations Coordinator for Construction/Utilities on a contract, on-site basis. The role covers scheduling, dispatching, tracking, and reporting for maintenance and construction work to optimize resources and meet regulatory requirements.

Pay is $37/hour with options for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) match. The incumbent will prepare permit applications, assemble work packets, coordinate with field operations, and support process improvements to sustain

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Excel experience required
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexible schedules, extended hours, and travel to multiple work locations within the state as needed
• Previous utility experience or knowledge of natural gas system operations (preferred)
• Previous experience with work planning and scheduling process (preferred)
• Previous experience with process management and improvement (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Prepare road opening permit applications in accordance with the requirements of local permitting agency
• Responsible for the accuracy and data quality of information entered in work management systems and trackers, which is crucial for tracking and managing regulatory compliance dates and work plan progress.
• Monitors accurate permit application status within work management systems and trackers and adheres to departmental cycle times for the purpose of timely permitting.
• Facilitates daily discussions with operational supervisors and contractor foreman to ensure work progression and full utilization of crews.
• Coordinate and balance internal resources to optimize short and long-term resource needs and achieve the annual workplan objectives.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, share best practices, drive consistency, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Engage directly with municipal officials involved in the permitting process to secure approvals necessary to progress work.
• Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek better ways of performing work to drive greater efficiencies.
• Serve as back-up to Resource and Work Coordination Supervisor regarding all permit related matters.
• Supports training and development of bargaining unit personnel performing permit process related work.
