Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter for its Construction PL team. The role offers a hybrid schedule and can be based out of any Zurich office in the South or Western regions.

The position may be filled at either level based on experience, with responsibilities spanning underwriting rules, referrals, broker relations, and client opportunities. Strong collaboration and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3+ years in underwriting or market-facing area.
• Knowledge of line/s of business and regulatory guidelines.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Creative problem solving skills.
• Experience working in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating annual rules.
• Develop and collaborate with Line of Business representatives on referrals and other business-related needs.
• Provide guidance to lower level associates.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents & brokers) and serve customers.
• Support sales culture as a help point for agents, brokers and customers.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Complete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Qualify accounts to meet appetite and sound business opportunity.
• Make broker/customer and on-site calls with a planned and well-prepared purpose.
