Job summary

Gemma Power Systems is seeking a Construction Turnover Coordinator to manage document control processes and ensure project turnover is conducted efficiently. The role supports the turnover workflow under supervision, ensuring compliance with quality procedures and latest document revisions across multiple TX project sites.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in turnover and document control.
  • Experience on power plant, industrial, or renewable energy sites preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours per day, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the turnover process under the guidance of the Project General Superintendent.
  • Ensure compliance with CQP-17 & CQP-14 requirements and Quality Procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on turnover/document activities.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for electronic and hard copy documents.
  • Retrieve documents quickly and accurately; ensure latest revision is available.
  • Conduct periodic audits of turnover/document control effectiveness.
  • Communicate with superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and commissioning team.
  • Upload turnover documents to the electronic document archive.
  • Provide training and support on documents and turnover processes.

Position Overview

Construction Turnover Coordinators are part of a multidiscipline construction team who are responsible for effectively managing & maintaining document control processes & workflows, and ensuring compliance with site-specific requirements and that the turnover system is conducted in a diligent & organized manner. This role will be based in either Milam County or Reeves County, TX, depending on which project you are assigned to, and will require you to relocate to the area of your assigned project. You may also be required to relocate to the area of any future projects that you may be assigned to.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the turnover process under the guidance of the Project General Superintendent.
  • Ensure that CQP-17 & CQP-14 requirements and any Quality Procedures are adhered to.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support turnover/document-related activities.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for both electronic & hard copy documents.
  • Quickly and accurately retrieve documents when needed.
  • Ensure the latest revision of a document is always available for the project teams.
  • Conduct periodic audits to assess turnover/document control effectiveness.
  • Maintain effective communication with construction superintendents, field engineers, sub-contractors, and the commissioning team.
  • Ensure that all required construction turnover documents are uploaded to the electronic document archive.
  • Provide training & support for staff on documents, turnover processes, and procedures.
  • Screen construction turnover documentation and work with Quality and Commissioning counterparts to ensure sufficient documentation is provided. This includes documentation needed for the due diligence required prior to system turnover.
  • Participate in meetings as required, and lead turnover-related meetings including documentation & punch list, under direction of the General Superintendent.
  • Support Construction and Quality teams in development of construction work packages to ensure that all documentation required for turnover packages is included prior to being distributed to the field teams.
  • Participate in the Gemma process improvement program or lessons learned.
  • Produce daily activity reports as systems are excepted by Commissioning and distributes to the Project teams.
  • Schedule system walkdowns with Construction and Commissioning teams when systems are completed and documentation is completed.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with overseeing system turnover
  • Previous experience working on power plant, industrial, or renewable energy construction sites is preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
