Job summary

Home Builders Institute seeks an instructor for Building Construction Technology to deliver hands-on trade training and develop curricula aligned with industry standards. The role emphasizes safety, practical skill-building, and collaboration with industry partners to keep training relevant.

The instructor will foster a safe, engaging classroom environment, supervise hands-on projects, and mentor students toward successful career outcomes in the skilled trades.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited apprenticeship or trade certification program in a relevant skilled trade.
• Minimum of 5 years of practical experience working in a skilled trade.
• Demonstrated ability to teach or train others, either through formal instruction or on-the-job mentoring.
• Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to skilled trades.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Instructs program participants in trade skills using approved curriculum.
• Develops curriculum and supporting training materials, as needed.
• Coordinates hands-on training activities including on-site and community-based projects.
• Demonstrates proper use of tools and equipment use, with an emphasis on safety.
